By using Fokuzen, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. These terms apply to all users, including those on a free plan during the beta period.
Fokuzen is an AI-powered productivity web app that helps you manage tasks, run focus sessions, and triage notifications from your work tools. It connects to services like Gmail, Google Calendar, GitHub, Slack, and Jira — but only if you explicitly authorize each one. AI features (task suggestions, daily briefs, notification filtering) require sending some of your content to Google Gemini; see Section 5 for details.
You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Use a strong password and notify us at support@fokuzen.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You retain ownership of everything you put into Fokuzen — tasks, notes, calendar events, and any data pulled from connected integrations. By using the service you grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to operate Fokuzen on your behalf. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
When you use AI features (task breakdowns, rewrites, daily briefs, notification prioritization), the relevant content is sent to the Google Gemini API for processing. Google does not use this data to train its models under its API terms. AI-generated suggestions are deleted automatically after 14 days and daily briefs are overwritten each day. AI output can make mistakes — treat suggestions as a starting point, not ground truth. You can disable AI features entirely under Settings → AI & Credits.
Each integration (GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Jira) requires explicit OAuth authorization. We only request the scopes needed for that integration — Google scopes are requested separately per integration (Gmail or Calendar), not at sign-in. You can disconnect any integration at any time from Settings → Integrations, which immediately stops that integration and deletes its data. For Google integrations, OAuth access is fully revoked when all Google integrations are disconnected.
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer Fokuzen, abuse the API, scrape data at scale, or use the service for any unlawful purpose. Don't share credentials or access the service in a way that degrades it for others. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile → Delete account. Deletion triggers an immediate cascade that removes all your data within 30 seconds. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms, with or without prior notice depending on severity.
Fokuzen is provided as-is. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including data loss, missed deadlines, or business interruptions — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We'll update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email and by updating the date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
